MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him enter mainstream Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu from 2016 was awarded an Colombian Kids Choice Award as The Most Popular Song for the year 2017. His debut album was a long-player ADN for the Medellin-based Sony-distributed La Industria Inc. This album peaked at eighteen on the Top Latin Albums charts. Vaina Loca was one of the Top Five hit for Ozuna and him the year after. He collaborated together with Noriel on Mala Influencia in the year 2020, and in the year following, he released his sophomore album the charting Dopamina. Then, in 2021 he sang a duet in 2021 with TINI in her smash hit Maldita Foto. In 2023, he appeared on 2000, which featured the smash hit La Bachata. Turizo is a product of a household of music his mother and older brother have been musicians. In interviews he has described the music he plays as a compulsory activity. When he was a kid, he began learning to play the saxophone and ukulele and piano. The first choice for his career was to become a vet, but his brother Julian convinced him to study how to sing under an instructor from a Cuban teacher. The end result was that he realized his ability to sing and also transformed his career path.
